Port-a-Sig
“Port-a-Sig” @
This unit is
designed especially for above ground pipeline systems including launch
and receive traps.
The unit features:

Manual and auto re-set magnetic pig alerts
•
Elapsed time of event
•
Event counting
•
Alarm by High Intensity Beacon and/or audio alarm
•
Manufactured from high grade T6061 aluminum with protection
against
weather conditions makes it
ideal for both land and offshore
operations.

System features both reliability, and well-proven operations by
major oil &
gas
pipeline companies.
An output from
the unit
can also give a relay
closure,
thus providing for any number of ancillary devices, i.e. radio
telemetry,
satellite communication, son-alert or input directly into clients'
SCADA
network. Normally, indication is facilitated by high intensity
strobing
beacon which can be seen from long distances especially from the air,
and
at night. The station indicators may take the form of either
portable
or permanent installations, or in marine applications, be sub sea or
buoy.
The
"Port-A-Sig" pig passage
indicator unit is manufactured
by StarTrak that has been developed from many years of experience in
pipeline
field services.
"Port-A-Sig"
is the only remote
sensing pig passage indicator
available to the Pipeline Industry which has been in field use since
the
late 1970's and has proven to be extremely reliable.
Once
activated, the "Port-A-Sig"
can be programmed to
operate its strobe light and/or programmed to reset automatically. A
built
in counter provides elapsed time of events in the manual mode or counts
the number of events in its automatic reset mode.
FoThe
station, or
static, magnetometers
are remote field passage indicators which allow the operators to
monitor
"Pathfinder" pigs through sections of pipeline. These units not only
indicate
the pig's arrival at that point, but also indicate the time of the
event,
either to one minute interval or 1/10th of a second, as required.
